My First Love!

First of all, I want to say I love you, and happy Valentine’s Day. I know that I do not say “I love you” enough, and I never want you to think that my love for you has changed over the years of me growing up. You have been there for me whenever I needed you through all the tears, skinned knees, and heartbreaks, I knew could always undoubtedly come to you. I also want to thank you for bringing me into this world. I know it was not easy raising me, and there were good days and bad days, but no matter what happened your love has never faded. I know that as old as I become, I will forever be your baby, and you will forever be my mentor. For all you have done, I would like you to be my Valentine, not just for this Valentine’s Day, but for all. Even though someone else may steal my heart, there will forever be a special place for you in my heart.

The sleepless nights, the early mornings, the trips to the grocery store, the school pickups, making sure the household is running smoothly, being the most supportive wife, being the most loving mom, and everything else in between.

You deserve this, I know its not enough but just by this to show my love and gratitude to you.More over i still remember the times when I was young I remember you bandaging my knees and comforting me whenever i got a nightmares. You teach us how to be grateful at all things and did not wish for us to act like spoiled little brats!

A One of A Kind Festival!

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival became an annual festival that aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province' rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the different agriculture and industry products of the province. There is a need to preserve our rich heritage and unique culture. With this in mind, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur has conceived a festival that highlights these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. Dubbed the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival, it is also a commemoration of the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province.

This festival is very significant to every resident in the province as they are celebrating the foundation of Ilocos Sur as a province by virtue of the Royal Decree signed on February 2, 1818. Ilocos Sur especially Vigan is branded as the Heart of Ilocandia by the Philippine Historical Committee. It’s a province very rich in culture and heritage. Kannawidan means traditions and this province got to showcase all what she has. On January 31 to February 6, 2011 several activities were lined up for the celebration. There was the tribal performance of the cultural communities of Ilocos Sur which is so fascinating. They displayed their talents as well as their indigenous costumes. Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longanisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong and many other foods including handicrafts.
